Travertine from Peru has the advantage of being very dense as compared with travertine from other countries, such as Turkey or Mexico. These materials require less fill because they have fewer air pockets, and this means all sizes of tiles can be cut to 3/8" thick, rather than 1/2" or 5/8"as you'll find with other tavertines in the 18"x18" size.
